Sky Watch Friday Styx and Willows ...

The song titles I use, or the ideas from them, sometimes come to me while I am editing.

I might also have a song on my mind when I see the photo while it's happening.

Then again, I will often set out to take a photo that I believe will match a song I love. I want to commemorate it in some way ... I want to make it stick. In my mind, it works. Those photos do look the way the songs sound.

But the photos most significant to me, are the ones that take place when the song is actually on the radio. I might be backing out of the garage, like with this one. Or I might be on the road ... then I'll look for the song while I am driving. And I'm not only listening to the song, but I am hearing it ... after having listened to it for years. I am also getting it ... totally.

This Willow is mine. And we sang Styx's "Too Much Time On My Hands" together, in perfect harmony. And Oprah only wants me to stop TEXTING while I drive?

See what's up around the world while others take photos of the sky for you at Sky Watch Friday.

I Have News For You ...

Winter is not an old Man.
Winter is a Woman.
She is very busy.

As are the Creatures on my Farm ...

We watch and feed the nuisances
to both the Flower
and Vegetable Gardens.

The Cotton Tails live under the Evergreens.
The Jack Rabbits live in the Shelter Belt.
We live in the long white House
and have a Groovy Red Horse Barn.

Everything is just as it should be.

Language Of Spring Sky Watch ...

Spring rides in to The Prairie on a refreshed and deeper blue Sky. Coming from all directions, Spring is a Tease. It hides then, for a while, because it is also very shy. But the Sun is Boss ... under God first, of course, and then Mother Nature. The Sun commands Spring to get over it ... and to make a sky like this.

Spring feels better, so they can all work together now, beautifying everything. They want my attention, so they give Not Quite Spring hints like Icicles, to hold me ... while the color Green comes to.

So plant your Pansies, my precious Southern Peeps. I may not be right behind you ... but I'm in your rear view mirror.

Wendy Over The Hill ...

Today is my Sister's 50th Birthday. She is in Heaven ...

she is on my shoulder

and in my heart
she's a spirit in my house

she's a humming bird
a butterfly
a rain drop
and a flake of snow

she's every flower in my garden
she's ashes in a beautiful blue urn

she's on my dashboard
my night table
she's in my trees
and my horse barn

the pain is in missing her
when she is everywhere.

Sky Watch Friday Love ...

Valentines Day is Sunday so lets make this about Love.

In its various forms, Love facilitates interpersonal relationships ... and because of the psychological importance, it's one of the most common themes in the Creative Arts.

So there you have it ... straight from the pages of Wickipedia and the lens of my camera. Feel the love at http://www.skyley.blogspot.com

The Lace Curtain ...

on the inside of the window has caused the ice on the outside to form the same design. Enlarge the photo ... it's beautiful.

Because I have the time to see these things, both around our property and my Home Town, it just wouldn't be right if I kept them from you.

Mr. Watertown Sky Watch ...

Where do we go when we are no longer here on earth ? In my heaven, you can sit on top of this moon and look down on everything that is beautiful and good ... and you can feel the love. Watertown won't be the same without Rick Roby, but it's a better place because of him.

There are skies ... and there are reasons for them at http://www.skyley.blogspot.com
