There are a few ignorant people in my world who really don't get the Michael Jackson thing ... the fact that his death is steadily in the news, and will continue to be until there are answers to the lingering questions, is enough to just plain piss them off.
Whatever drove or haunted Michael Jackson, to do the things he did, is not something I spend time thinking about. I've pulled some crazy things in my life that would shock you for sure.
So today I am thinking about this song and how it was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie to call attention to the starving children in the US and Africa ... and how their project netted millions to feed them.
Michael Jackson made some strange choices ... but he also made the connection "WE are the World" and "WE are the Children". That's how I'm remembering him.

When I Woke Up This Morning Sky Watch ...
You were on my mind. I was on the porch. This was staring me in the face ... and it's both the reason I am here and the reason you are not. I miss you, Wendalina.

The Bachelorette ...
She never had it so good ... cuz these gorgeous girls don't get to play with the potential Man Of Their Dreams, give out roses to their favorite great kisser Dream Boats, or dole out Fantasy Suite invitations in remote romantic locations.
They get to run to me and figure out I don't have feed ... and that I am only there to say Hi, take a photo, ask them how they are doing, and move along ... because I have places to go and things to do. Just like them.

Father Figure ...
Carroll Eugene Brandriet at 18 years of age after having enlisted in the Air Force ... Our relationship was one of love, pain, anger, resentment and retaliation ... on both our parts. The acceptance came eventually. But things weren't that great between us when he passed away almost 10 years ago. We were in a Mexican Standoff about a pressure cooker ... trust me, it fits.
My Dad was a very handsome man with personality, wit, spunk, and a passion for drinking. He also had a heart of gold ... and he believed in me.
I love you, Dad. And if you were here I'd give you the pressure cooker for Father's Day.
I miss you.

About Last Night ...
Husband calls to wife from mower on summer's first hot day of 75 degrees, "Have you seen the peony"? Wife, preoccupied as usual, "Yeah ... Gotta jump, Mom's appt at 1:20".
Later that evening while Husband is prepping the grill for NY Strip Steak, Husband calls to Wife, who has finally come down a few notches after her afternoon in town, "Did you see the peony"? Wife glances then runs towards Garden of the Year.
Wife, "Oh My God"! "Did I plant that" ?

I Growed This ...
Columbine ... I'm totally enamored by the inside and the outside is pretty outstanding. Derived from Latin for "The Dove", this gentle blossom with the down turned horns on it's backside is reproductively isolated. They were consulted regarding the Theory of Evolution. Their privates are designed to have sex only with other Columbines. But they can marry anyone they want to.

Dandelions ...
are actually pretty cool. I had forgotten about them until I moved back to The Prairie. They just aren't acceptable on a maintained lawn back in West University. They were named in Old French, Dent de Lion, which means Lion's Tooth, the shape of their leaves.
We don't eat them ... yet ... but they sure are good for you. Please pass the Vitamins B-1, B-2, B-5, B-6, B-12, C, E, P, and D ... I'm craving Biotin, Inositol, Potassium, Phosphorus, Magnesium, and Zinc.
