- Two years ago I returned home to The Prairie after 36 years in Houston, 27 in West University Place. This is my Life ... with Ron, my Husband of 29 years and our Animal Planet which consists of a German Shepherd named Ruby Thursday and 3 Tabbies named Bean, Mia and Leo. We have pheasants, ducks, geese, deer, rabbits, a red fox and 27 bird species if you count that f'ing grackle. I am a hip chick. We live on 3.5 gorgeous acres just outside of my hometown and we are surrounded by family, friends, and beautiful sunrises and sunsets every day of the year. It's only as cold here in the Winter as it is hot there in the Summer.
