I have been driving by this old garage for a while now, and knew I would take a photo when the time was right. I noticed the bright red fall leaves on it's top a few days ago, it was overcast, the colors were just right, so I stopped.
There are some things going on here that I really like. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" ... "Beauty is only skin deep" ... those types of thoughts. The roof is cratering, but the way it's going about that is actually pretty cool. And I like the way the doors lean in towards each other ... I wonder how long it's been since they were opened ... and I doubt they ever will be again.
And yet it has what appears to be a fairly new coat of green paint ... I like this way of thinking and doing. I like everything about it and I'm glad it's there.
It's charming as it is, and I'm glad that you pointed out what you like about it. I am thinking what a lovely studio or guest room it could be, someday, if someone wanted to reinforce some of its structure. But it has plenty of charm as it is right now.
ReplyDeleteVery cute. I love that someone put some fresh paint on it...kinda like my putting makeup over my sheet marks in the morning.
ReplyDeletei love this picture too.
ReplyDeletepictures like this make me think of what it ONCE was... and how very useful it used to be to someone, and how pretty (and somewhat whimsical) it is now....
Maybe the green is moss! :-D
ReplyDeleteI love old buildings, they have so much character... think of all they have seen in this world!
This is so charming. Like you I love old buildings. I suppose sometimes they have to be fixed up, else they fall down but hopefully this one won't. Love the roof.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great photo. And your insight and interpretation makes it all come to life. It's very inspiring. Makes me want to snap some photos around here, especially with all the fall colors.
